Staffordshire won this match by seven wickets shortly before 3.25 pm on the second day, after being set a victory target in their second innings of 106 runs. For the winners, Vost took eight wickets in the match for 39 runs. Fereday top scored with 48 not out which included 2 fours. For the losers, Armstrong's 50 included 6 fours and 1 six. Nottinghamshire were dismissed in the their first innings before lunch. The collapse in the first innings saw the last 7 wickets falling for just 3 runs.
