This card comes from the Minor Counties Research Project - research is continuing on this scorecard which can be expected to change.
Surrey 2nd XI won their final match of the season against Wiltshire by 201 runs shortly before 5.00 pm on the second day. The game between the two teams at Swindon in July had been drawn. The victory kept open Surrey 2nd XI's chance of sharing the Championship title, but this depended on Wiltshire gaining no points from their match with Monmouthshire over the next two days. For Surrey 2nd XI, there was 1 five, 16 fours, and 6 threes in E Wiltshire's 127 not out, scored in 2½
hours. Baker's 96 contained 11 fours. In the Surrey second innings Baker and Wiltshire put on 120 runs for the first wicket.
