Biography:Styled Lord George Hamilton as son of 2nd Marquess of Abercorn (who was created 1st Duke of Abercorn 1868). MP for Midlothian 1868-85, and for Ealing 1885-1906. First Lord of the Admiralty 1885-86, 1886-92; Secretary of State for India 1895-1903. Director, Underground Electric Railways (London); President Royal Statistical Society 1910-12, 1915-16. MCC President 1881-82.
