Northumberland won this match by an innings and 136 runs within five minutes of lunch on the second day after making the visitors follow on 456 runs behind on first innings.
The Northumberland innings of 509 for seven wickets declared lasted for only 3 hours and 35 minutes.
A key feature was the innings of 219 not out by G L Hunting.
In all he batted for just two hours and 20 minutes, his innings included 15 sixes, of which four were out of the ground, and 23 fours.
Press reports indicate he gave 4 or 5 chances during his innings.
Morrison scored 109 which contained 2 sixes, 1 five and 13 fours, an innings of one hour and 20 minutes.
There were 11 fours in Wingham's 62.
During the Northumberland innings Morrison and Nesbit put on 111 runs for the second wicket, Hunting and Wingham added 195 runs in 75 minutes for the fourth wicket, and Hunting and Milne added 69 runs unfinished for the eighth wicket..
Milne took 10 wickets in the match 91 runs, including 6 wickets for 22 runs in the Cambridgeshire first innings.
For the losers, in the Cambridgeshire second innings Carpenter scored 82 with 15 fours and Collier 79 with 14 fours.
They added 155 runs for the Cambridgeshire second wicket in 90 minutes.
A feature of the Northumberland innings was despite it exceeding five hundred runs, only two extras were conceded.
