This return match was drawn after rain prevented play between lunch and tea on the first day and after lunch on the second due to a heavy thunderstorm which enveloped the ground. The match between the two teams at the Bedford Grammar School the previous week had been won by Buckinghamshire. For the home side, B H G Shaw scored 53. In the Buckinghamshire innings Lowndes and Frith added 79 runs for the ninth wicket. In the Bedfordshire first innings Stacey took the last four wickets without conceding a run. For the visitors Southwell scored 67 in the Bedfordshire second innings.
[Missing: Umpires; extras breakdown; part fall of wickets; in Bedfordshire second innings boundaries in Southwell's 67; in Buckinghamshire innings who held substitute catch and boundaries in B H G Shaw's 53.]
