Northumberland won this match by 84 runs on the second day. Lincolnshire had required in their second innings 209 runs to win in 3½ hours. Rain interfered with play on the first day and lunch was taken early. For the winners, Milne scored 68 and Marshall 65, with 10 fours. For the losers, Geeson scored 55 not out. Skinner in catching Brooke in the home team's first innings, split his right hand which needed several stitches. He batted last in the visitors' second innings, but was able to field and bowl with some success in the Lincolnshire second innings. In the Northumberland second innings, F S Cannell fielded as substitute for Wells-Cole and was responsible for running out Marshall.
