Bedfordshire won this return match by 10 wickets at 3.35 pm on the second day. With just four runs required for victory, the game between the two teams at Luton the week before had also been won by Bedfordshire and by the same margin. For the winners, Morcom took 14 wickets in the match for 102 runs, including 9 for 37 in the Buckinghamshire first innings when he was deprived of the chance of taking all ten wickets by the absence of Jones. Morcom's 9 wickets for 37 runs was statistically the best innings bowling performance of the season. Thring scored 53. In the Bedfordshire first innings, Atkinson and Holdstock added 52 for the seventh wicket. For the losers, Stacey scored 54. Jones was absent in the Buckinghamshire first innings and Bird in the second. Their absences were noted in press reports but no reasons given. A downpour of rain on Monday stopped play for the day at 4.45 pm.
[Missing: Umpires; in Buckinghamshire first inning why Jones absent; in Buckinghamshire second innings boundaries in Stacey's 54, and why Bird absent; in Bedfordshire first innings boundaries in Thring's 53 and fall of eighth wicket, and who bowled wide and no ball.]
