Durham won by 295 runs at 4.45 pm on the second day. On the first day play started 20 minutes late at 11.50 pm. For the victors, there were 17 fours, 1 three and 5 twos in Butler's 102, an innings of just over two hours. Horsley's 98 included 1 five and 12 fours, Coulson's 78 contained 14 fours and Elliot's 50 included 7 fours. In the Durham first innings, Horsley and Elliott added 114 for the second wicket. In the second innings, Butler and Coulson put on 117 for the sixth wicket. Turnbull took 12 wickets in the match for 70 runs, including 8 for 46 in the Glamorgan first innings. For the losers, Russell top-scored with 43 not out, which included 1 six and 5 fours and with Riches added 54 runs for the seventh wicket in the Glamorgan first innings. In the Durham second innings Bancroft took over the wicket-keeping duties from Riches. When he dismissed Galloway in the Durham first innings, Creber reached the career milestone of four hundred wickets in championship matches.
