This return match was drawn, after Hertfordshire had enforced the follow-on with Norfolk 182 runs behind on first innings. The previous game between the two sides in July at Watford had also been drawn. For the visitors, White's 89 contained 12 fours and Burrell's run-a-minute 62 included 6 fours. In the Hertfordshire innings, Turner and Burrell added 61 runs for the ninth wicket. For Norfolk, Hoare played a defensive innings of 68, which lasted 2 hours and 25 minutes. When Norfolk completed their second innings, Hertfordshire required 53 runs to win in 14 minutes. The Hertfordshire Captain decided this task was not worth attempting, and it was agreed the match be abandoned as a draw. The 21 maidens bowled by White in the Norfolk second innings were the second most in an innings during the season.
