Suffolk won this return match at 1.10 pm on the second day. The match between the two sides at Norwich a week before had been won by Norfolk. For the winners, Cobbold took 12 wickets in the match for 52 runs, including 9 for 15 in the Norfolk first innings, which was statistically the best innings bowling performance of the season. There were 9 fours in Fox's 60. For the losers, Shingler's 59 contained 6 fours. Arriving late just before lunch on the first day, Raynor went in last in the Suffolk first innings. The game had originally been arranged for Ipswich, but was moved because of concerns about whether the pitch at Portman Road was fit for a two-day match.
