Northamptonshire won by ten wickets shortly before the lunch interval on the second day. The match was played in 'cold wintry weather'. On the first day, there were several interruptions for rain and further play was prevented from 5.15 pm after the end of the Northamptonshire first innings. For the winners, Thompson took 10 wickets for 52 runs and there were 6 fours in his 56. Moss's 57 for Bedfordshire also contained 6 fours. Pollitt was twice hit by balls from Dickens.
