Biography:Became an international rugby referee as well as a cricket umpire. Appointed as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the 1981 Queen's Birthday Honours list for services to rugby and cricket. Inducted as a member of New Zealand's Sports Hall of Fame in 1995.
