Aaqib Javed offers to assist Akhtar in his rehabilitation

Former Pakistani pace bowler and chief coach of National Cricket Academy (NCA), Aaqib Javed has offered to assist star pacer Shoaib Akhtar in his rehabilitation process after he returns from South Africa later this week. Aaqib said fast bowlers were prone to injury and Shoaib was no exception. Shoaib had a little more fitness problems compared to the others. He is a national asset who should be given maximum support at all levels, said Aaqib. Aaqib said he was trying to improve the game of Salman Butt, Imran Farhat and other talented players, adding that all the flaws in the technique of such talented could be removed, even at a later stage of their career. He said he was currently working with six bowlers who were banned for chucking during the domestic season and they were showing signs of improvement at the NCA.
