Leg spinner Stuart MacGill has announced he will not play any more domestic one-day matches for New South Wales this season. MacGill, who is the leading wicket-taker in the history of the domestic competition with 124 dismissals at 22.36, said his decision was based on giving teammates Nathan Hauritz and Jason Krejza greater opportunities to impress national selectors. "I just thought in reference to World Cup selection, it would be a shame if I was to keep any of them out and prevent them from staking their claim," MacGill told ABC Radio. MacGill said he was not retiring from one-day duty with the Blues, as he expected to be called up if Hauritz and Krejza earned national selection in the future. "Nathan and Jason Krejza are great all-rounders who have got very successful histories in one-day cricket and if I'm right both of them will be picked to play for Australia at some stage, probably very shortly, and then a spot will open up in the Blues team again," he said.
