Australia has a habit of turning up world-class fast bowlers and captain Ricky Ponting believes they have found another sensation in Mitchell Johnson.

Midge, as he is known, announced himself on Saturday night against India, taking four wickets in a blistering spell, including the prized scalps of Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid. Despite his heroics he is leaving Malaysia on Sunday, along with Phil Jaques and Mark Cosgrove in a pre-planned decision by Australian selectors to slim down their 18-man squad here for the DLF Cup.
I have been excited about him for quite a while to tell you the truth, Ponting said of the lanky 24-year-old Queenslander, who was discovered by Australian bowling great Dennis Lillee. I think he is someone with all the right attributes to play a lot of cricket for Australia and I think we saw some of those last night. Mitchell got us a couple of vital breakthroughs in the first game (against the West Indies) and bowled brilliantly against India. He is coming along really well.
Johnson, who has only played seven one-day internationals and not yet made his Test debut, has already been selected in Australia's Champions Trophy squad, and is in with a shout of being picked for the Ashes in November.
He's got everything. He's got pace, he's got a left arm, he can swing it, so everything is there which is why we have all been so excited about him for a long time," said Ponting.
