Sri Lanka Cricket today took a decision to cancel the on-going three-match one-day international series against India due to bad weather conditions.
SLC interim committee chairman Jayantha Dharmadasa said that the decision was taken after play was ruled out of the second one-day international between Sri Lanka and India scheduled to be played in Colombo on Sunday.
The first one-day international saw only 22 balls bowled and India score 11 without loss before rain washed out play. The third and final match was scheduled for Tuesday.
Dharmadasa said: We have cancelled the series because of bad weather but we hope to reschedule it on a later date. It could be a bi-lateral series or a tri-series depending on the availability of the countries.
The one-day series replaced the tri-series against India and South Africa that was cancelled after South Africa decided to pull out due to security concerns when a bomb went off a few kilometers away from their hotel killing seven people and injuring several others.
