Mumbai, June 8 : Not only Sandeep Patil or Ravi Shastri have been eyeing Team India's head coach post, every single day more and more former players are coming forward to apply for the post.
 
On Tuesday, Lalchand Rajput has sent his application. 
Speaking exclusively over his mobile, Lalchand Rajput said, "I have already forwarded my application this morning. I am all necessary credentials to be India coach". 
"I have not sent any presentation. Now only the desire is to be conveyed. Once I am called for the interview, the demonstration / presentation will be shown to the BCCI officials", he added. 
The 55-year-old right-handed batsman has played only two Tests and four ODIs' for India, but the former opening batsman has been a successful coach for Under-19 team. He had also been a manager of the national team. 
When asked about his chances when pointed out that team's cricket director till recently Ravi Shastri and chief selector Sandeep Patil, have also thrown their hats in the ring, Rajput says, "it is always good to have healthy competition". 
Pravin Amre, Vikram Rathore, Venkatesh Prasad and Robin Singh, Balwinder Sandhu etc. too are either preparing to send their applications or have already sent their wishes to the board, it is also learnt here. 
More and more applications are bound to be received by the BCCI, till the last date (June 10) of submission. 
The BCCI is soon likely to announce the names of the committee, which would recommend the names of the candidates to be interviewed.
