Shanan Stewart is not returning to Ramsbottom next season.
Ramsbottom's Cricket Chairman, Andy Dalby said, "Shanan has been brilliant this year. I would like to thank him for his honesty, as he could easily have signed a contract and then pulled out in January/February time. When initial discussions took place about next year, Shanan was up front and honest with us, telling us that he couldn't commit.
"With having such a young family, he felt it only right that he told us this. Shanan would like to return to Ramsbottom in the future and I would like to go on record by saying that the door is always open to Shanan and his family for a return to Acre Bottom."
Stewart had a fine season helping Ramsbottom to win the Worsley Cup, 20/20 Competition and the Ron Singleton Colne Trophy. The New Zealander hit 937 runs at 46.8 with eight half centuries and a mammoth 150 at Rawtenstall. He also picked up 22 wickets at 18.8. In league and cup matches Stewart hit 1187 runs at 51.6 with twelve half centuries and one century.
