Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza is going to Australia for further medical advice about a knee problem.

The right-arm medium pacer, sustained the problem in July while bowling in the first Test against West Indies in St Vincent.

He then missed the remainder of Bangladesh's Caribbean tour amid fears that he would require an operation which could sideline him for up to a year.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board have confirmed Mortaza is to leave for Melbourne on August 6 to consult orthopaedic surgeon David Young.
