The Delhi youngster shot into headlines during the 2007-08 series Down Under when bowling at good pace and moving the ball both the ways, he ruffled Australian skipper Ricky Ponting quite a number of times. In fact Ponting's dismissal at Perth after being troubled by Ishant all-through his spell made this young pacer an overnight star. Since then Ishant has continued to impress on a very consistent note. No matter what the conditions are, and whether he is playing on flat batting decks or moving pitches abroad, his impeccable line and length alongside pace of around the 140 mark is what makes this bowler so special. He has grown from strength to strength and is one of the most potent weapons in Dhoni's armoury. The only problem with Ishant is his loss of control during the slog overs, a period of play where more often than not, he has gone for a lot many runs. Ishant had a pretty average outing in the T20 World Cup in England. He started off well but then went for a few runs too many in his last overs. He has been looking out of form off late and West Indies would be a good opportunity to get back the rhythm and the form.
