The Delhi youngster shot into headlines during the 2007-08 series Down Under when bowling at good pace and moving the ball both the ways, he ruffled Australian skipper Ricky Ponting quite a number of times. In fact Ponting's dismissal at Perth after being troubled by Ishant all-through his spell made this young pacer an overnight star. Since then Ishant has continued to impress on a very consistent note. No matter what the conditions are, and whether he is playing on flat batting decks or moving pitches abroad, his impeccable line and length alongside pace of around the 140 mark is what makes this bowler so special. He has grown from strength to strength and is one of the most potent weapons in Dhoni's armoury. The only problem with Ishant is his loss of control during the slog overs, a period of play where more often than not, he has gone for a lot many runs. He plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL and is undergoing good match practice before the T20 World Cup where alongside Zaheer, he needs to play a very important role with the new ball.
