Andrew Richardson could have made it to the West Indies squad earlier after he had a dream second season for Jamaica picking up the most number of wickets(36) for the side. But this brilliant start was then plagued by back problems sooner. The tall, accurate right-arm fast bowler then picked up 20 wickets the following domestic season but then he went off the radar of the selectors. He again made a strong statement via his bowling with a good return in the 2008-09 season, picking up 32 wickets to play a major part in Jamaica's four-day title triumph. These performances got him a call-up to the West Indies Test squad for the tour of England.
