Player: | JL Kaye |

Middle order right-hand batsman, right-arm fast bowler.
He was professional for the East Lancashire Club, Blackburn in 1864, their inaugural year, and there is a professional by the name of Kaye at Fairfield, Liverpool in 1866.
He played for Lancashire in the match against Yorkshire at Middlesborough on 2nd and 3rd September 1867. This was a match for which Lancashire appear to have struggled to find a team, judging by the high proportion of professionals and one match players.
In the 1881 Census he appears living at Kirkhams House, Pilkington, Lancashire, aged 34, a commercial traveller, with his wife Mary Jane aged 29, and their 9 year old daughter Florence Helen Lowther.
