Brief profile of Hamish Anthony

Player:HAG Anthony

Hamish Anthony, the young West Indian all-rounder, was recommended to Glamorgan by fellow Antiguan Viv Richards. He made his Glamorgan debut during their pre-season tour to Trinidad in 1989/90, and then appeared in two Championship games and four first-class friendlies for the Welsh county during 1990.

He was also on the fringe of the West Indian side at the time, and after some promising performances for the Leeward Islands and the West Indies Youth team, Anthony won selection in 1991 for the tour to England. Anthony`s selection in the West Indian tour party meant that Glamorgan opted for Ravi Shastri as their overseas player in 1991, before Viv Richards returned for 1992 and 1993. Anthony subsequently played in League cricket in Northern England, before re-appearing for Glamorgan in 1995.
