Brief profile of Hubert Rhys
by Dr.A.K.Hignell
Hubert Rhys had a dramatic entry to first-class cricket, striking 149 for the Free Foresters against Cambridge University at Fenners in 1929. It was a performance that won the right-handed batsman a place in the Glamorgan side later in the season, and he made his Glamorgan debut against Leicestershire at Pontypridd.

Rhys played again in 1930, but failed to register a half century in the county`s colours. He had captained the Shrewsbury XI in 1915, and played his club cricket for St.Fagan`s and Cardiff.
