by Muhammad Asim

Scorecard:South Africa v Pakistan

Pakistan team led by Salim Malik arrived for their first ever Test match against South Africa with their tails sky high after three series wins in a row. The one-off historic match was played at Johannesburg and proved to be a disastrous affair as the visitors failed to live up to the expectations and capitulated without a fight. South Africa in the process recorded their first highest win terms of runs at home as they buried Pakistan by 324 runs. Aamer Nazir who joined the team just an hour before the match broke-down after bowling just few overs. Pakistan thus lost one of its most cherished records, of being the only country except England who won atleast a single Test match in the inaugural rubber against every other Test playing nation.
